How to teach kids about body safety & consent
I don’t know about you but I was never taught about body safety or consent. Let alone my growing body, puberty or sex. It just wasn't the type of conversations I had with my parents. Left to my own devices, friends and media became my biggest teachers.
I don’t want this for my kids.
I want to be involved in helping them understand boundaries, their bodies, and how to keep themselves safe.
I want to give you my 7-step process on teaching kids about body consent and safety.

To me, quality boils down to being: 👶🏽Age appropriate (made exactly for your child’s age range and development). 📚Educational and/or inspiring (versus just entertaining). 💃🏽Engaging and interactive (encourages them to participate either by calling out answers, dancing, sharing their ideas...

My son started daytime potty training at 20 months and is now staying dry on his own about half of the time at night at 2 1/2. Im thinking about putting puppy pads under his sheet at night to reduce mess.

Love it, SO SO SO helpful to hear you talk about how play is the childs time to take some control.. so helpful, thank you. I am working with pre-schoolers and I love it that you say "it's their time to SHINE", (obviously within limits of safety), very genius, thank you

I understand some of this but when I tell my kids nicely to not take their food and eat it on my bed to watch the TV in my room a million times nicely, leading to yelling at them not to eat their because I don't want to sleep in their spilled food at night and they blatantly tell me when I tell them to take their food to the table ,"no! Or FFS! Then end up spilling the food on your bed anyway, it's hard to not get in a range. At 12 and 13 I do expect respect. I expect my rules to be followed...off yoir phones at night, get up on time for school, clean up your own mess, help me when I need it. They do nothing and treat me like I'm their slave and refuse to help with most things because God forbid they would have to get off their devices. I've taken them away and that still doesn't work. I don't ask them to do things beyond their level. I could clean everything spot when I was 8. Our entire house by myself. There's no way kids this age can't do dishes.but they refuse. Because kids these days are entitled little AH.

I remind my children to say thank you. I hope it doesnt count as a handicap, constantly reminding them. My oldest is 9 and I suddenly feel concerned about "thank you" not yet being an automatic response.

This may be an absurd question but HOW MUCH attention am i supposed to be giving???? Every moment of the day??? I feel guilty for wanting time for myself and my own hobbies. Am i evil for wanting more than a couple of minutes to myself??? More than just the bare minimum amount of time to do basic hygiene and chores (cooking/cleaning). Am i allowed to want my own time??? On top of the away time thats spent up doing chores. Why must i always feel guilty for that.

Hi moms, I wanted to chime in on this one. I haven’t been able to watch the forced apologies episode but I wanted to contribute. So with forced apologies, yes I think they are fake but how should we mirror kindness without guiding and showing them how to apologize. Also, I think with this situation, I would’ve pulled my child aside and asked her what happened. It would not matter why she spat on someone, I would educate her that that is not nice behavior and that if something is wrong, she needs to tell an adult before she spits or puts hands on someone. I also wonder how old the kiddo was, mine is 6 so this would be appropriate for her but I’m not sure how this would work on a younger child

My daughter is recently having tantrums that are more related to teething pain. If I try and validate her emotions, it seems to make it worse since I'm reminding her of the pain. But any actions, words, etc also seem to escalate things. Any tips?

My son assaulted me a few days ago and he will be 18 next month, I didn't want to press charges because I didn't want him to get a record. But I'm trying to get him evaluated but that's a whole process and he's in therapy but that's a journey in itself. I told his therapist what happened and honestly I feel that she wasn't helpful or sympathetic. At this point, I'm waiting for him to be 18, so my husband can kick him out. I honestly see no remorse or no guilt.

❤This was my first time visiting your channel and I’m impressed enough to subscribe.😊 I’m a grandmother to a grandchild that lives far away. I’m staying with my daughter and caring for my granddaughter for 3 1/2 weeks while her day home is closed. I’m observing my granddaughters behaviour and experiencing her for the first time for this length of time and wanting to know what’s natural for a-year-old. You provided excellent information and confirmed my intuition as a stay home mother of two. Have shared your video with my daughter in the hopes that your excellent tips will help. 😊

This is so helpful. My daughter is about to turn 3 this month. For the past two weeks she's been very aggressive and angry when things doesnt go her way and when I dont give in to her. She gets very overwhelmed with her emotions and i do also. It seems like her emotions just flips from what im used to with her personality as she is about to turn 3. How do I help regulate her emotions when shes dealing with the agression and melt downs. Also is this a thing as they trans into being 3. I know not all child are the same? Will this phase ends eventually??.

BLUEY is a double sided coin for me personally. Of course it is cute & has very sweet, touching relatable moments….. but it also has snarky replies from the kids, not a lot of realistic discipline from the parents, and the squealing laughter 🙉 ugh. Does anyone else feel this way about this super popular show? I get why people love it, and have enjoyed it but don’t let my kids watch multiple episodes of it in a row anymore. Of Behaviors are so influential!
